CARROT BAY, Tortola, VI – It was a day of fun and frolic as the Carrot Bay Cultural Fiesta had its fun day activities yesterday August 8, 2014 as part of its customary Festival activities to celebrate emancipation from slavery.

Carrot Bay, known for its heavy focus on Virgin Islands culture, saw a large turnout for the activities, which had enough entertainment for all persons - adults and children alike.

The day featured sack races, tug o war and donkey races among others all of which caused the crowd to be in tears from laughing too hard.

In the tug o war married women were pitted against single women and in that contest the married women prevailed.

Craig A. Lake aka DJ Push Pop was the MC for the day and he kept the crowd entertained during the intervals of no activity with his funny comments and anecdotes here and there.

He also acted the role of a stand-up comedian poking fun at people in the crowd as he tried to tease them out to come from the sidelines and join the action.

There was also a tug o war pitting single men against married men and DJ Push Pop had a field day in defining what it means to be single and the shenanigans that some married men indulge in, pointing out various locations on Tortola devoid of street lights that some of them visit, much to the laughter of the crowd.
