GEORGETOWN, Guyana - Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has declared “war on guns” to combat the illegal exportation of guns from the United States of America.

This declaration followed the conclusion of the regional symposium in Trinidad and Tobago, where leaders sought to address crime and violence as a public health issue.

The CARICOM leaders registered their concern over the increase in the illegal exportation of guns from the United States of America, which is a direct threat to the region’s democracy.

“We declare a war on guns to combat the illegal trade which provides the weapons that contribute significantly to crime and violence in our region, causing death, disabilities and compromising the safety of our citizens.

“We call on the United States of America to join the Caribbean in our War on Guns and urgently adopt and take action to stop the illegal exportation of firearms and ammunition into the Caribbean,” CARICOM said.

The bloc lamented the disproportionate share of its members’ national budgets that are allocated to measures to address crime, violence, and national security as well as mental health and other health-related challenges, that directly result from the illegal exportation of guns to the region.

“We underscore our commitment to utilize all human, financial, and other resources to rid our Region of the scourge of illicit weapons. We reiterate that the Caribbean must be a zone of peace, which will allow us to achieve our goal of a secure, stable and prosperous community for all our citizens,” CARICOM said.

They lock up southern leaders with charges of illegal exportation of drugs. Its all set up to control us. Artificial fear. The desire for drugs that are killing people is in the USA. No caribbean person wants to be using chemicals.

yet all the killing they export negligently in order to destabilize the world and make their wild west gunslinger nation seem tamer.

All the guns and killing that happens in other nations as a result of their negligent exportation of weaponry they then use to justify the war on drugs. "drugs being violence"

No you military industrial payroll scumbags putting the power of life or death into a strangers hand for cash brings violence! Thanks to their gun manufacturers the village idiots the world over have power they would not otherwise have to commit crimes.

Its a cycle they've created and they dont want it to $top.

We have to demand it to stop as Caribbean people. Its not OK for America to have no responsibility while policing everyone other country that bows down to their school yard bully tactics & sanctions. Gun boat diplomacy is alive and we take it lying down, this being after emancipation. We already know how racist the founders were. we know desegregation ended within 100 years. We know black people fill their jails disproportionately. We know black teens are still being shot due to racism by old white men.

They dont own us anymore and we need to stand up for what WE know is right. Their version of freedom & democracy war on drugs its been going for the last 50 years and here we are.

More guns more drugs. Now their exporting their crappy weed which makes as much sense as exporting sand to the Caribbean.

Our leaders are stuck on looking "professional" & to weak to demand legalization, along with an end to their exportation of tools of death, long after the US has pulled the rug from under us and stolen the race we STILL up hold their self-immolating laws.

Yet they still blame us the global south for their sins while we welcome them in to arrest our leaders, who were in every case probably tempted by the USA. They create crime and call it undercover work.
