Cane Garden Bay Beach Hotel & Rhythm & Sands Restaurant & Bar now open
In October 2024, it was announced that Quito’s Luxury Inn and Quito’s Gazebo Restaurant & Bar was under new ownership by MHV Resorts and Hotels.
Leading up to the opening of their businesses at the Cane Garden Bay Hotel on Friday, the family spoke to members of the media.
Happy to enter the hospitality industry- Mr Vanterpool
Chairman of MHV Resorts and Hotels Mr Mark H. Vanterpool said, “We are very excited to enter into this major part of the hospitality industry.”
He said the group is already in the restaurant business and is pleased to enter the hospitality sector, as the two are related, through the Cane Garden Bay Beach Hotel.
Mr Vanterpool added the group is pleased to take over from Enriquito Rymer aka ‘Quito’ and his wife Kim who he said have turned over their legacy to them.
“We want to move on and make the foundation that they gave us work very well for the BVI, for the people of the BVI and for the Caribbean and the world as a whole. We don’t see us as a BVI property per say, we see us as an international property, that will serve people from all over the world...we are going to pitch our product, our hotel, our resorts at the international level to be able to please our clients, our guests from all over the world at a very high standard,” he explained.
Mr Vanterpool added that a lot more will be heard about MHV Resorts and Hotels.
Changes to come
Mr Vanterpool revealed that a few changes will be made to the property in the next year. He said some of the “condos” will be sold and re-entered into the hotel for operations, explaining that one can have their own condos at Cane Garden Bay Beach Hotel. About forty percent or eight condos will be sold.
Meanwhile, hotel he said will have its own restaurant with part of the reception area being turned into a high-end Italian restaurant.
Rhythm and Sands Restaurant and Bar
Mr Vanterpool also said the Rythm and Sands Restaurant and Bar will continue with the rhythmic theme of its predecessor Quito’s Gazebo Restaurant & Bar.
“We’re going to continue the rhythms that Quito’s used to have but at a more frequent level. It wouldn’t be just Friday nights or Thursday nights but regular rhythm down there on the sands and I believe that the guest at Cane Garden Bay Beach Hotel would go for the very good experience,” Mr Vanterpool said.

I totally agree. My blog post "Visions of a Paradise Lost" is relevant.

These are people who care for the environment, not to destroy it for bragging rights that don’t really make any sense.
I don’t think they are hating. It really does stick out and not pleasing to the eyes.
People are generally happy for Mark and fam. I am for sure , but the building rises an anger in me every time I pass or sail into the bay. Def an eyesore!
