Cabinet approves 54 for Belonger status

- accepts recommendations for 21 to be given Belonger status as spouses of Belongers

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- 54 expatriates were approved for Belonger status when the Cabinet of the [British] Virgin Islands met on June 19, 2024, at the Premier's Conference Room in Cutlass Tower in Road Town.

According to a post-meeting statement from Cabinet published today, July 25, 2024, Cabinet reviewed and approved the recommendations of the Board of Immigration in respect of applicants for Certificates of Belonger Status.

Cabinet also accepted the recommendations of the Board of Immigration to grant Certificates of Belonger Status to twenty-one (21) persons who, in accordance with section 16 (6) of the Immigration and Passport Act (revised) are the spouses of belongers, and who have been living together with their spouses within the Territory for a period not less than five (5) years.

According to the same post-meeting statement, Cabinet accepted and approved the recommendations of the Board of Immigration to grant Certificates of Belonger Status to fifty-four (54) applicants, who, in the opinion of the Board, have met the legal requirements of Section 16 (3) of the Immigration and Passport Act (revised); and decided that the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sustainable Development instruct the Immigration Department to communicate Cabinet’s decision to the respective applicants in a timely manner.

      They earned it fool. They made valid contributions to the BVI and met all the one millions criteria we have to meet to get status. Some of us treat and respect these beautiful Virgin Islands more than the ‘born here’ generational folks. Take that to the bank. And we will continue to contribute and build this territory.

      There are still ignorante, people who cant read, write and comprehend that does not know how to help themselves why would you not find out why they are here over 25 years with out status and help them along life's journey to get their status fixed.

      Blogging that you know is of no help to them. Blog with your knowledge, time, energy and it may also cost you something out of your pocket. Then your living wouldn't be in vain you would have done your path. Peace

    They giving away our ancestral birthright every single month! You lived here for 20 years faithfully and contributed to my country diligently then I have zero issues. But some of these people ‘do not qualify in the least! The UK is forcing us to become St John where soon the local native people won’t have any special rights in their own home!

    STOP FLOODING THE BVI WITH MOST OF THEM WHO DONT LIKE US ALWAYS BAD TALKING US, THEY ARE GOING TO BUILD HOUSES AND WHEN THEY RETIRE WITH SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS COMING IN AND THEIR HOUSE ALREADY BUILT IN THEIE HOME LAND THEY WILL MOVE BACK TO THEIR HOME????????
