BVITB shortlisted for Aspire Luxury Travel Club’s Tourist Board of the Year
The announcement confirms the BVI Tourist Board’s place among an elite group of global tourism organisations recognised for excellence in serving the high-end travel sector.
Recognition for Luxury Excellence
The Aspire Awards, organised by the UK-based Aspire Luxury Travel Club, celebrate the very best in luxury travel and are widely regarded as a benchmark of excellence within the international travel trade. The Luxury Tourist Board of the Year category is open to tourist boards that demonstrate a clear focus on serving the affluent travel market, with entries judged on their trade and consumer strategies, luxury product offerings, and measurable success in attracting high-spending visitors.
Being shortlisted signals that the VI’s tourism marketing, partnership development, and visitor-experience initiatives have stood out to industry judges.
Building on recent accolades
This latest recognition builds on a string of recent international honours for the Virgin Islands. Earlier in 2026, the Territory was named Best Luxury Destination in the Caribbean in Modern Luxury’s 2026 Travel Awards, following its 2025 title as “Hottest Destination of the Year” from the same publication. The Virgin Islands has also featured prominently in Travel + Leisure’s 2026 World’s Best Awards, underscoring its momentum as a top-tier Caribbean destination.
In July 2026, the Virgin Islands further strengthened its luxury profile by hosting the 10th Caribbean POSH ICON Woman Awards, an event that brought together leaders and hospitality professionals from across the region and highlighted the Territory’s capacity for high-end event tourism.
What the shortlisting means
The winners of the Aspire shortlist will be announced at the awards ceremony in Manchester on December 14, 2026. For the Virgin Islands, the nomination reflects not only the quality of its luxury resorts, yachting infrastructure, and bespoke experiences, but also the effectiveness of its targeted marketing to affluent travellers and travel advisors.
Tourism stakeholders across Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost van Dyke have increasingly positioned the Virgin Islands as a destination for discerning visitors seeking privacy, exclusivity, and world-class service attributes that align closely with the criteria for the Aspire award.
The BVI Tourist Board and its partners will now await the final results ahead of the December ceremony. Regardless of the outcome, the shortlisting reinforces the Territory’s standing among the Caribbean’s leading luxury destinations and validates ongoing efforts to promote sustainable, high-value tourism growth.
Winners of the 2026 Aspire Awards will be recognised for their contributions to elevating luxury travel standards and driving measurable results in visitor spend, length of stay, and overall destination appeal.
