BVIAA to host biennial simulation exercises @ all VI airports
The BVIAA in a bulleting said the simulation exercises are in accordance with OTAR Part 178 and OTAR Part 139 and must be performed to test the relevant operational procedures, along with testing the response time and performance of emergency personnel within the Authority and external agencies.
“The exercise will all be conducted during the operational hours of the respective airports. The public is asked to note that there will be a noticeable increase in activity by the emergency services around the airport during the exercises. Public announcements will be made on the day of the simulation to ensure that there is no alarm.”
The BIVAA said it continues to maintain compliance with the regulatory requirements of the Overseas Territories Aviation Requirements (OTAR), and will continue to maintain industry standards that provide a safe and efficient gateway to the Virgin Islands and the rest of the world.
