ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Hundreds flooded the Festival Grounds in the capital city, Road Town, for the BVI Fish Fete’s stage show on Saturday, November 13, 2021, one of the first major shows in the Virgin Islands since the territory began allowing such activities after the global pandemic hit these shores.

The show, which was inspired and executed by prominent promotor and businessman Mr Steve E. Parillon of ‘Fish Mobile’, was headlined by Jamaican artist TeeJay aka the ‘Up Top Boss’, who was appearing for the first time in the territory.

Teejay, who has dominated the party scene with songs like Up Top Boss, My Type, Pray and Grimy, told the VI audience that he was scheduled to be in the territory back in 2019 but the COVID-19 pandemic froze all plans. He was; however, happy to lead the return of stage shows in the territory.

The show was scheduled to start at 7:00 pm but never did until a few minutes before 11:00 pm.

Entertainment

Nevertheless, the crowd gradually swelled and was kept entertained with music by live deejays, among them being DJ Grim, Selecta Taz, DJ Dre and Homegrown Sound System.

The opening act was Xtreme Band, with lead singer Pascal being backed up by Dirk L. Walters on the keyboard and Ramon G on drums.

They were followed by Mr Sherwin Paul aka ‘Mr Walkie’ out of Grenada and then the main act by TeeJay.

VIBE, led by Raul R. Sprauve aka ‘Juggo’, closed out the night.

Vendors grateful for sales

On the sidelines, food vendors counted their dollars with gratitude to the many patrons who turned out in large numbers throughout the day for mainly the fish meals but were also able to purchase other types of dishes.

so now if an outbreak occurs this is to blame, not the cruise passengers not JVD,not Anegada, not Virgin Gorda but Tortola and the Fish Fete. If it does happen them shut down Tortola and let the toursits enjoy the sea and outer island away from this madness that should not of been allowed to happen

Therefore, BVI must remain frozen until when. The rest of the world has moved on. Miami just had a successful carnival. Let the people live them lives. We have to learn to live with COVID-19. For those not vaccinated get vaccinated. It is not a cure, but it can limit your reactions if you catch COVID. Fully vaccinated, not partially. Two weeks after your last dose, you are considered fully vaccinated and still you have to be alert of your surrounds and wear your mask. It is a personal choice.

DON'T LOOK FOR COMPANY, YOU ARE THE STUPID ONE, BOUT " WE", IT IS ONLY YOU.
HOW LONG MUST PEOPLE BE ON HOLD. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHEN COVID WILL BE GONE? SO PEOPLE SHOULD HOLD THEIR LIVES FOREVER? THEN WE WILL ALL DIE FROM SOMETHING ELSE.

I hope all goes well and nobody gets sick so we can have more events like this. We need to open up and still be careful wearing masks. Good luck to everyone who was there not to have caught anything. Being outside in the open air should protect many, they are not inside an airless club. One Love.

We are playing with fire. This is the pinnacle of stupidity. Just take a look at the picture and see that there is evidence of Covid-19 protocols not being observed. God help us.

Where were the police enforcing social distance. The Commissioner of Police has double standards for different events.
