PHILIPSBURG, St Maarten, WI- BVI Bayside Blazers have virtually assured themselves a place in the semi-finals of the 6th annual ‘Battle of the Fittest’ Basketball Tournament in Philipsburg, St Maarten, after beating Curacao last night, July 17, 2019.

The BVI boys took their third win in four games in dominant fashion, outplaying Curacao in all aspects of the game to score a whopping 128 points and limiting their hapless opponents to just 52 at the L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium.

Adrian D. Joseph again had a stellar performance, netting a game high 22 points, pulled 5 rebounds and made 2 assists.

Killven M. Samuel also continued his successful run at the tournament, scoring 17 points, made 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Cleo D. Sears ended with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.

Top scoring for Curacao was M. Oscpa (18 points) and E. Richmond (11 points).

Defending champions BVI play their final group game tonight, July 18, 2019, against hosts Dutch St Maarten from 10:00pm.

The semi-finals will be played on Friday and the final on Saturday, July 20, 2019.
