ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – With 35 plus flavours of local ice cream available at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park, Manjack Creamery serves its customers and business clients with an irresistible mix of unique ice creams, sorbets and smoothies.

This was revealed when Deputy CEO of Tortola Pier Park Limited (TPPL) Zoe J. Walcott and JTV reporter Cathy O. Richards did a tour of the facility as part of a business feature on July 11, 2024.

Local ice-cream

The local business establishment, owned by Hezikiah E. Maddox and Deborah Maddox aka ‘Debby’ was originally located at Cutlass Tower in the heart of Road Town; however, the business recently moved to Pier Park about a year ago.

“It was a good move, it’s a small space but it has been really good for us over the last year,” Ms Maddox said while adding that demand is much greater than supply.

When asked about the origins of the business, Ms Maddox said the business was founded from a previous business owned by her late brother-in-law who sold shaved ice.

She said it has always been a dream of his to own an ice cream shop, however, he died before that could happen.

Natural ingredients

Meanwhile, Ms Walcott commented on the variety of the flavours and the uniqueness of the ice creams which makes them different.

“We really try to stick to the flavour profile that we have and we try to use as much natural ingredients as possible...We use real bananas, real strawberry, real blueberry, real rum,” she said.

Ms Maddox said there are real ingredients in every flavour and even shared that the mangoes for the mango ice cream are sourced from a tree in Cane Garden Bay.

Some of the sorbet flavours include coconut, soursop and mango with more flavours including key lime, mixed berry, salted caramel and mint chocolate.

Some of the ice cream flavours include coffee, coconut, soursop, vanilla spice, banana, cherry vanilla and more.

The ice cream also comes with a variety of waffle cones in flavours like cake, red velvet, chocolate, blueberry waffle and more.

Walcott said the company has created an authentic experience where persons can visit the ice cream parlour right at the Pier Park. The business can be contacted at +1 284-346-0092 or on facebook via ManJack Creamery.
