Deputy CEO of Tortola Pier Park Limited (TPPL) Zoe J. Walcott and JTV reporter Cathy O. Richards toured the store that offers clothing made in France from 100 percent Egyptian cotton.

Blanc du Nil translates to White of the Nile in English. True to its name, the store offers mostly all-white clothing, though there is a selection of items with black accents and a black and white collection.

Richards said, “Here at Blanc du Nil it has something that is very common to them and them alone, unique, I should say, everything for $35.00.”

Walcott added, “The reality is they have what we call quality at an affordable price.”

As for the price, Blanc du Nil ensures the price is affordable, the energy is good and customers are welcomed with a smile.

Universal pieces to fit all sizes

A few stores down from Blanc du Nil is what was described as its “aunty store”, Tropical Tortola.

There you can find the opposite of what is found in Blanc du Nil as it features colourful collections, where everything is also $35.00.

Tropical Tortola’s pieces are vibrant with tropical floral designs, giving a Caribbean summer feel that can be worn year-round.

“A lot of these items are the same quality,” Walcott said, describing the pieces as “striking”.

Also found at Tropical Tortola are one-size-fits-all all pieces for women.

“If you want pieces that are very easy to wear, but are also very good quality, this is your one shop stop,” Walcott said.

So whether you prefer simple colour schemes of white with a hint of black or are drawn to the colours of the Tropics, Blanc du Nil and Tropical Tortola has something for you and will only cost $35.00.
