Building that houses Premier’s Office evacuated

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Sometime this morning, March 19, 2025, occupants of Cutlass Tower, including public officers, reportedly evacuated the building due to an “emergency situation”.

Cutlass Tower houses the Office of the Premier, the Office of the Deputy Premier, the International Affairs Secretariat, BVI Finance and other offices.

The Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services were called to the scene and, subsequently, persons were allowed back into the building.

Unconfirmed reports are that an elevator hydraulic leak was detected.

Efforts to get a comment from Fire and Rescue Services were futile up to the time of publication.

Premier's Office & other Gov't Offices closed

Meanwhile, the public has since been notified that the Premier’s Office, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sustainable Development, and the International Affairs Secretariat, located at Cutlass Tower in Road Town, are closed today, March 19, until further notice.

For urgent queries regarding the Premier’s Office, persons are asked to contact 468-2152, 468-2254, or 468-2074.

For urgent queries regarding the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sustainable Development, persons can contact 468-2161.

    In the US, they use the taxpayers money but at the end of the year the taxpayers receive a refund check. Here they don’t as much as give the taxpayers a tax credit back

      Speak facts...Not everyone gets a refund...Some people owe more and end up paying!!! USVI people need a US address in the continental US to even file. US Income Tax is AT LEAST 30% and you don't get the full amount or half of that back. If anyone is really carrying the load of paying taxes in the BVI it's businesses...What is really 7% income tax? Go siddung

    , unfortunately he got stung , and ison vacation in Miami , while these here are following the script , and enjoying the benifits of the mind games that is played out right in front of our eyes / rent , free jams , and other jams where vybes can walk and walk out with our taxpayers money ???? like it's no big deal , we even see our master WEATIE on stage flexing off heself ???? , couldn't yhat money beegn put towards getting the COMPLEX up and running ❓️????
