Budget Day rescheduled to November 11, 2024

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Premier and Minister of Finance Dr The Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) will now make his third budget presentation on November 11, 2024, instead of October 29, 2024.

Dr Wheatley, during an interview with JTV’s Cathy O. Richards on October 14, 2024, said he was going to present the Budget Speech on October 29, 2024, and the House of Assembly had subsequently confirmed it.

On Friday, October 25, 2024; however, the House of Assembly informed of a change of date.

“I refer to my letter dated, 18th October, 2024 referencing the Twenty-first Sitting. Please note that the Twenty-First Sitting of the First Session of the Fifth House of Assembly which was scheduled for Tuesday, 29th October 2024 has been rescheduled to Monday 11th November, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the House of Assembly Chamber in Road Town.

“The main business of the day will be the Budget Debate,” Clerk Bethsaida V. Smith-Hanley stated.

    IS REALLY. SMART , ON YHE STREETS IT IS SAID THAT HE IS PLAYING A GAME BY INVITING THOSÈ WITH MORE EXPERIENCE THAN HIM TO WORK ON HIS TEAM AND V WHEN HE HAS LEARNT ALL THEY KNOW , HE FIRE THEM , SO IF NOBODY AIN'T CROSS THE FLOOR ; THEN ( THE 3RD ) WILL BE KICKED OUT JUST LIKE LORNA / IN HER CASE IT WAS FOR NOT BEING A PUPPET / WE WILL SEE IF1¹ THE 3RD WOULD BE A YES MAN OR A YES BOI , ( THEY SAY YOU HAVE TO STOOP TO CONQUER . SO WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE WHAT THIS GRASSHOPPER GOT UP HIS SLEEVES

    our political system needs some changes| the people needs to vote for a Premier and such Persons have to be Financially Stable and Educated

    Remove the At Large System; just wasting Tax money| we had no issues with the District Political System back then| Just Create a District using the Outer Islands

    And will the budget presented then be more credible and or realistic? Will there be clarity as to the $100 mill just borrowed will be paid for ($750k/month?) and as to how the monies will be apportioned? Any plans for a proper audit?

    We want to know if there is any provision made to for the Pensioner who for donkey years whose pension is only $650 a month. Can they survive on that increasing cost of living and still be able to live a comfortable life without stress? Please take care of the once who helped to build these beautiful Virgin Islands.
