Bregado Flax are Primary Sch. B’ball Champs!
The clash of the two teams, who were both unbeaten during the regular season, was on paper a mouth watering affair, but BFEC raced into a 19 – 0 lead at half time and effectively put the game to bed.
Combining solid defense with lightening quick transition into offense BFEC were just too strong for their rivals.
St Georges fought back though in the third quarter, going on a four point run from the free throw line to give themselves a foothold.
They outscored BFEC 7-3 in the third, but the slow start to the game, following a tough battle in the semi finals against Althea Scatliffe Primary School (ASPS) had taken its toll.
The two teams traded points in the fourth quarter, but although St Georges played with much more intensity, BFEC had too much movement and passing, as well as having the cushion of 15 points.
They were content to sit back and hit their opponents on the break to run out 31-16 victors.
Jahdique Winchester and Tyreice Carrasco notched 7 points each, Kahmani Caul 6 and Kyreek Gardener 4.
For St Georges, Kade Chalwell scored 12. Enis Adams Primary School finished third with a 38-30 win over ASPS, with Kawa Williams scoring 17 points. Malcolm Christopher scored 7, Keshaun Esprit 6 and Kajarri Lettsome 4.
ASPS were led by 10 points from Elroy Bollers, 8 from Stephen Emmanuel, 6 from Johnathon Jackson and 4 from Carlyiek Benjamin.
In the semi finals BFEC beat EAPS, 38 – 26, with Shamoi Dore and Carrasco scoring 9 points, Winchester 8 and Caul 6. Esprit scored 12 for EAPS and Williams 6.
St Georges overcame ASPS, 31-27, to secure their first visit to a inter primary school final, with 11 points from Chalwell, 6 from Stephon De Leon and 4 each from Kyron Walwyn and Xylomar Gunn. Bollers notched 19 for ASPS and Jackson 6.
