‘Blue ball’ removed from Plaza! Some claim it promotes ‘Devil worship’
The ‘ball’ was placed at the Sir Olva Georges Plaza, next to the hurricane ravaged Police Headquarters.
It was believed to be placed there by the persons responsible for the Trellis Bay, Full Moon parties.
It made its debut on social media and some even claimed that it had sculpted into it, a symbol that promotes devil worship, in a so called Christian society, like the Virgin Islands (VI).
Move it we are children of God
The Constitution of the VI however, protects the rights of anyone to worship whichever deity they choose—including the devil.
In the end, the Christians prevailed and today, Thursday, August 23, 2018, the ‘blue ball’ was removed from the Plaza to an unknown location.
This might be a lesson for those promoting legalised gambling, which is officially opposed by the BVI Christian Council, as the churches in the Territory still exercise some level of clout over these VI.

like governments for instance. They think they exist to slave away at something called 'work' and reproduce
more workers, as a reason to exist in the first place. So sad. They can't tell the devil from God. Oh well,
pass the Worcestershire.
And you all want to stand up to the UK and say 'we are not backward, small-minded people, we are capable of running our own affairs?' This is the kind of thing that gets Caribbean people a real rep for pure stupidness.
Yes, people should respect religion, but not total bull crap made up by some self righteous crazy who decides this piece of artwork is about the devil. It is not and never was but as usual, FB can take fake and bake a bullsh*t cake.
How about you expose your family members smuggling drugs that kill people? How about you complain about the corrupt cousin in government who just gave a big gift to your church? How about you make noise about murder in your community? Child molestation, etc etc etc. Christian fundamentalism should not rule our people.
Come on guys, the UK is looking to make changes regarding its relationships with the BVI. Do you have any idea of how this makes y’all look?
Wow! They learn from their Christian parents as well.
CUT THE CRAP ALREADY!
For those that don’t believe in God, hope you are right. Because when we die that’s when we’ll be faced with the truth and it’ll be too late.
For the Christians, stop being Pharisees. Because I’m guessing God could care less about the Blue ball. Stop phariseeing the people.
We all are adult, we all know right from wrong. God has given us the right to choose how we live. We as Christians should not force our ways upon other. We are not rulers but servants.
If the people want to put up a Blue ball for whatever reason. That’s their choice. It shouldn’t bother you. They didn’t put it in your place of worship. It’s not hindering you from worshipping God.
I do understand you live here too and what they do can affect you. But humble yourself and let God take control. Have faith like you should. Pray, nothing can harm you without God’s permission. Call yourself Christians but you’re afraid of a blue ball.
A lot of those same “christians” protesting on the Facebook post have their own demons that they refuse to deal with. Not speaking with family members, not speaking with their neighbors, not speaking to members of their same church. They need to deal with those issues and be examples of true Christians before they even think of giving themselves the right to start judging others.
If you don't like it, or don't appreciate it as a work of art; FINE. Just don't go projecting your own fears on it and bad mouthing it.
Symbolism is all around us: Kraft foods, Nike, Apple computers, BMW, Mercedes, etc. It is what differentiates them from everything else in the Market. Think people- we are a tourist-oriented destination. How many photos will be taken by tourists to be marketed (inexpensive by the way) to the rest of the world? Our own unique branding. Let us be known for blue coloured balls around the world. THINK! our people. Enough said.
If these blogs were like FB where you can tell who commenting many would not comment. We are too small a community to behaving like this.
The drawings depicts people (a community) dancing and in fellowship with the horseman beast. . It can be perceived as invocation.
I see government rounding up all the wild chickens so we can't cut their heads off and paint names with their blood!
