Biras Creek Resort, located in Virgin Gorda, Virgin Islands, is seeking applicants for the position of Purchasing and Inventory.

The Purchasing and Inventory Manager will be responsible for managing the procurement,
storage, and distribution of all supplies, equipment, and materials required for resort operations.

This role ensures that inventory levels are optimized, costs are controlled, and the highest
standards of quality are maintained. The Inventory Manager will collaborate with department
heads, suppliers, and logistics providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement and
inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
Oversee the inventory control process, ensuring accurate tracking and proper storage of supplies.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet operational needs while minimizing waste and excess
stock.
Conduct regular audits and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
Implement best practices to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
Implement adequate inventory tracking methods to ensure compatible systems with other
departments.
Purchasing & Vendor Management
Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure high-quality materials at competitive prices.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely and reliable deliveries.
Manage purchasing contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with resort policies.
Evaluate supplier performance and explore new sourcing opportunities to improve cost
efficiency.
Cost Control & Budgeting
Develop and manage budgets related to inventory and procurement.
Monitor and analyze inventory costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Work with finance and department heads to forecast inventory needs and spending.
Implement cost-control measures to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.


Logistics & Storage Optimization
Ensure proper storage conditions for perishable and non-perishable items to maintain quality.
Optimize warehouse and stockroom organization for efficient inventory management.
Coordinate with departments to ensure timely distribution of supplies.
Oversee transportation and logistics to ensure smooth supply chain operations.


Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with all local regulations and industry standards regarding procurement and
inventory.


Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and inspections.
Implement safety protocols for handling and storing materials.
Train staff in inventory procedures and safety guidelines.


Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory and purchasing management, preferably within
the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of inventory control systems, procurement strategies, and vendor
management.
Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to inventory control and purchasing.
