Big Bamboo aiming to go bigger & better for 2020 Anegada Lobster Festival
Diane Levons, Owner of Big Bamboo Restaurant, said the business has already started to mentally prepare for the next festival.
“Next year we are trying to be bigger and better because for the first time, we listened and we learned,” she said.
“We have been doing the Lobster Festival for seven years now, and it is becoming more and more hectic. Like today [November 30, 2019] was crazy, and I don’t even want to think of tomorrow, but it has been a blessed day, we had a good night last night with ‘Pressure’ and ‘Revelation’, and we are looking forward to next year,” she added.
Levons said the two artists held their own and delivered to the patrons at her establishment on the night of Friday November 29, 2019.
New additions
The business owner also made new additions such as a new stage and bar to the existing beachside restaurant.
“I extended to accommodate the artists, and I placed a new bar because there was too much pressure on this one, so I built a second one. For the new stage, there are five additional bathrooms and urinals. So we are making it comfortable for our guests,” she stated.
The Anegada Lobster Festival, one of the most significant events on the BVI Tourist Board’s Food Fete calendar, was held on November 30, 2019 and December 1, 2019, with 10 participating food establishments.
