‘Be more responsible on the radio’- Dr the Hon Wheatley urges ‘Heritage’
Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr The Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) laid down the gauntlet on the Monday, February 21, 2022, edition of the morning radio show, while addressing local social issues on 'Da morning Braff,' radio show.
“First thing I want to say heritage… I love you. You're my cousin. We never going to Fall out, but I do want to say something before I start addressing the issue… I'm hoping and praying that you could take a different approach to what you're taking.
“Despite the fact that you're very popular, you have a very popular programme, people love the programme, you have to be more cautious and more responsible with the things you say,” Dr Wheatley went on to say.
‘Take a more responsible approach’– Deputy Premier
According to the Deputy Premier, Burnett’s duty to responsibly disseminate information is one that goes beyond politics.
“Now certain people won't say it to you because they feel as though they are benefitting from it, but it is, it is truly beyond politics, beyond election, beyond any of those things, you have to take a more responsible approach on the radio.”
Dr Wheatley added, “ I've seen you do it. I've seen you be very responsible. And I know you can do it and I want to encourage you to be more responsible on the radio, I’m going to tell you like it is because I want to see you prosper and I want to see you grow,” he added.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Burnett has also been accused of spreading COVID-19 misinformation and for pushing an anti-vaccination rhetoric which many believe has discouraged persons from getting vaccinated against, SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

Heritage needs to do a course in journalism and media. It's not everybody could just jump up and be talk show host. You have to be responsible when reporting information to the public, it's not about being "popular". Stay unbiased. Not because you don't believe in it means you must be on the airwaves spewing hate!
Thank you, Heritage, for shedding light in the darkness. Just be a little calmer. Otherwise, you are doing a good job. The lies and evil can really make a person like you get angry, but hold the line.
