BBC reporter an idiot! - Edmund G. Maduro
Speaking on his EGM Show last evening April 14, 2016 on ZROD 103.7, Maduro expressed strong condemnation for the journalist who made scathing accusations against the integrity of the financial services sector, considered the lifeblood of the Virgin Islands as it reportedly contributes up to 75 percent of the territory's revenue.
“If I were the Government of the day I would have arrested him and asked him to prove his point,” said Maduro. “If it was one of us they probably would have done it,” he said. “He is here calling our Government thieves. If it was a black man he would have been locked up. But a white man can do and say what he wants,” Mr Maduro said.
“Here you have a man coming down from Britain, trying to paint our financial services industry [negativey]. Why is he trying to make us look like mumus? The Constitution guarantees secrecy in our business. That is not unlawful,” he said.
Maduro said while it is unlawful not to pay one’s taxes people still have a right to secrecy in their affairs once they are not breaking any laws.
Maduro commended Willock for his "brilliant, intelligent responses" to the questions posed by the hostile BBC World Service reporter during the April 4, 2016 interview, saying the answers were characterised by knowledge and wisdom.
“He handled that man perfectly well and that man, the journalist, should be ashamed of himself,” he said.
The radio host Maduro noted that the journalist deserved jail for his unfounded accusations and allegations and that he should be forced to provide evidence of what he is saying.
“Why is this man coming down here to destroy the good works of the British Virgin Islands? My people...we cannot afford to let people come from all over the world to mess us up. That man is totally irresponsible as a journalist and he has done the BBC nothing good by coming out here with that nonsense,” he said.
It should be pointed out that the interview was done via a telephone call from the UK.

enterprise, but often as in this case, is an intelligence agency operative to contribute to the destabilization procedures
against the BVI to destroy it. You can thank the US and UK intelligence agencies for initiating all of this and then
getting the fanatics on the bandwagon. all of these recent things are cold war procedures. Because someone somewhere might have a decent country or territory or better (at least) quality of life. The BVI and a few other places
in the world, are superior to the piece of S### countries initiating all this nonsense.
