Bat Cave, VI’s party central!
Last evening, June 16 2012, owner of Bat Cave Kiesha Pickering, in giving the public what they want, hosted another bash where Pumpa of St. Croix and the VI's Showtime Band, were scheduled to be the acts on the line up.
Pumpa, the Kittitian born performer who now resides in St. Croix has become a favourite for the VI crowd.
With consistency, Pumpa brought the same energy he had the last time he was here. He took the crowd on a flight visiting almost every Caribbean island by singing their hits, especially from his home land of St. Kitts.
The “energy God” kept it going and going and going, and with no disappointment, the crowd kept up with him. With every beat, every verse, ever song, Pumpa had the crowd under his spell, like puppets and he kept pulling the strings as they danced.
Ms. Pickering said that she is pleased and her expectations were met, in relations to the large crowd that was housed at Bat Cave.
Drama with Showtime and Pumpa
Apart from a night of Pumpa’s sweet music, a bit of drama occurred between Pumpa and Showtime. Information reaching this news site from credible sources indicated that there was a bit of 'verbal scrabble' between the two bands.
Our sources indicated that as a result of the order of appearance of both bands, where Showtime band was to perform before Pumpa, Showtime Band hesitantly refused and argued the matter at hand.
This news site understands that both bands argued over who will take the stage first.
Our insider indicated that the argument stemmed from a recent boat ride that also hosted both performers where Showtime was forced to go first.
"Show time refused to go first because they went first the last time.”
Speaking to Ms. Pickering, she confirmed the argument and stated that she tried to resolve it. She added that with efforts to bring peace to both bands, she made a decision and informed Pumpa that he should perform first.
Virgin Islands News Online caught up with Ottley Hodge, Founder of Showtime Band, who confirmed that the band did not perform at the Bat Cave event because the "business" of the band was not met. However, he declined to comment any further on the argument.
Meanwhile, Pumpa declined to comment on the incident as well.
