ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Old Madrid FC Mini Soccerama Tournament continued this past Sunday September 22, 2013 at the Greenland Recreation Ground in East End with three entertaining matches and some unexpected results.

In the opening tussle, hosts Old Madrid FC tried to extend their winning streak against the East End Eagles but the match-up proved to be a very balanced one that ended in a 1-1 draw after 70 minutes of play. With penalty kicks needed to separate the two sides, the East End Eagles upset the old boys 3 goals to 2.

Next up were Haitian Stars and Police Panthers. The experienced Panthers dominated most of the match with ball control and skillful play and ended-up victorious with a 4-1 score. The Haitians’ lone goal came through a lone and strong effort by Gregory Atime who went past about four players with his run that started from midfield before finding the back of the net from close range.

The feature game was between the young Ballstars coached by Vincent ‘Nabu’ Samuels and the never –say-die Rebels.

The game was surprisingly an even contest but it was the Rebels who were leading 1-nil at half-time before Ballstars, who were full of running and playing with a man short for most of the second half after one of their players was sent off, netted to see the game end in a 1-1 draw after regulation time.

With penalty kicks then needed to decide the winner, the favorites Ballstars came-out on top 3-1.
