At least one injured in accident near QE II Park

Reports are the vehicular accident took place sometime before 4:00 PM today, June 13, 2023, near the entrance of the Park. The accident involved two vehicles, one of which flipped. Photo: VINO

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Traffic along Waterfront Drive, in the vicinity of Queen Elizabeth II Park, has been diverted due to an accident on Waterfront Drive.

Reports are the vehicular accident took place sometime before 4:00 PM today, June 13, 2023, near the entrance of the Park.

The accident involved two vehicles, one of which flipped.

At least one person has been taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

We are working on more details for this story.

        Why don’t YOU!!!! get a truck or ladder and remove the green cloth that seems to be bothering you so much. Or better yet, let the owner(s) of the new View Inn remove or have the green cloth remove. That is NOT Natalio or Kye job description to go around removing green cloths from street light posts.

    Is pure craziness on the roads. Just the other day a jeep ran into a taxi headon going up the college. The police meed to start testing these drivers to see if they are under the influence of alcohol.

    As a guess I would say one car swang out to miss the man hole covers which are not level with the road. These things cause accidents. The roads are awful currently. Pot holes are massive and no attempt to fix anything

      Thank you for speaking out and telling the truth. Too many people sit quietly and let others judge without knowing the facts. Every day I see people driving as if they own the roads, overtaking and making oncoming traffic stop for them so they can do what they want. It’s sad that it takes a big accident for them to learn, they’re just lucky no one lost their life.

    I hope the injured will be alright. All day long today there have been crazy drivers out there. Did they all pay for their licenses because they sure are not following the rules of the road? Unnecessary speeding, dodging in and out of traffic, tailgating, honking horns for no reason. It's scary out there!

    We are over run by crappy drivers on island. Have you seen how narrow these roads are folks? Why are you over taking, why the hurry? I'll catch up to you in 2 minutes anyways. Just pure nonsensical reckless driving. I hope the driver that caused the accident is severely dealt with.

      Having good infrastructure and preserving life on land are 2 out of of the UN's 17 sustainable development goals. We not even achieving 2/17. Maybe the UN delegates will drive the message home to sowande THIS WEEK AND NO LATER!!!!

    There are some crazy people on the roads. There is a fellow down west who drives a black Honda with a kinda square back. Didn't get the number plate, but he is always in a mad rush overtaking wildly. The other day he nearly caused an accident Pockwood Pond when he overtook three vehicles on a turn. I was mad cause my family was in a vehicle he overtook and endangered. Saw the same vehicle this morning again overtaking wildly heading town. Police, if you reading this blog, please do something about that reckless driver. Thank you

    I hope Mr Skelly ton look into how some of these people are obtaining their drivers licence. They are still being sold by,,...........and everyone knows it. Even some young Police Officers and Nurses know how to bypass the systems paying hundreds of $$$$$ to get one.

    The little culbert cleaning and no one paying attention to it will cause more accidents. You can't enter the park properly or exit properly all vehicles entering their must be on the go slow while main traffic is in a hurry. If you happen to pull to the left know for sure your front wheel will break off. How dumb and ignorant can engineering get in this territory. No signs nothing. People must get into foolish accidents even if you are driving slow.
