‘As a man of the cloth, it is my duty to pray for the fallen’- Bishop Cline
Bishop Cline made the comments during the May 26, 2022, edition of the My BVI Show streamed on Facebook.
His comments come on the heel of backlash for calling on God to ‘have mercy' on Hon Fahie, who was arrested in the US on money laundering and drug conspiracy charges in late April.
No favoritism to pay for Premier - Bishop Cline
Affirming that his prayer was not one of favouritism, Mr Cline said, “They put this ridiculous picture of me crying and say I’m crying for the Premier… that’s not it at all, I’m crying for my country and the place that we have come to.”
Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) had reported on Monday, May 23, 2022, that the Bishop during a sermon on Sunday, May 22, 2022, in prayer before his congregation said, “It is not my desire nor should be anyone who wants to see him [Andrew A. Fahie] spend any length of time in a US prison, but I Pray that God will show him mercy.”
The Bishop was visibly in tears as he moved to prayer in the Sunday morning sermon streamed live on Facebook.
Speaking on the My BVI Show, Mr Cline said, “I know I got a lot of flak for asking that the Lord show mercy on him, because at the end of the day for me… it is not up to us to decide who God would have mercy on,” he said.
“To know what he was involved with, what he has been charged with… also as a Christian nation and one [Hon Fahie] who has called many meetings [and] the nation to prayer, to find out that it was also another side, it was more than disappointing for many of us,” he added.
A duty to pray for the fallen - Bishop Cline
The Bishop added the prayer for Hon Fahie is amongst many since the church prays for other social issues in the VI, such as for young men and those suffering as a result of gun violence.
Meanwhile, the Bishop added that he also has a duty to pray for persons who have fallen. “As a man of the cloth and a man of faith and a man of love, it is my duty,” he added.
The Bishop said if people don’t agree that he should be praying for the Premier, that's fine, “I still feel it was my duty to offer my prayer for him… I just do what I feel in my heart that I would do and that’s that,” he added.

And the government ended up with wonderful computer systems did it not?
He meant 'paper'. I still want to know when and how he became a Pastor? HIM?
R@## or bombo
Hope you all realize these so-called pastors carry familiar spirits (look it up). Just try make sure they don’t lay hands on you in prayer.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15
For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
You were brainwashed into believing this non sense as a child.
If you had been born in Saudi you would believe in Mohammed.
if you had a brain and used it ypu woyld see this.
It is God not god (god is an idol).
Do you spell your name with a common letter?
Stop minimizing God.
People don’t see God as the in-thing, the trending thing, and close their eyes and ears mocking anyone who has a zeal for Christ.
Watch when these same mockers fall into problems who they run to quick calling for help but God.
Ungrateful people in this world who are ashamed to profess and be disciples for Christ yet expect Him to bless them.
Hope they know their will must be in alignment with God’s will and He only answers prayers of those in true repentance and obedience.
Can’t skin up your face to others rallying for Christ then expect to be in Heaven when it’ll be EVERYTHING GODLY.
Adoration: You alone Pastor; maybe the ex speaker guy
Contrition: Inmate Fahie, all his relatives, friends, cronies, business contacts, corrupt civil servants, most cops, etc.
Thanksgiving: EVERYBODY ON THE ENTIRE PLANET!
Supplication: See contrition
And for those who felt he was set up? Yes, he was. But pray tell, why would they set up such a sting to catch a big fish like our Premier in these types of dealings? And tell us, please, why was he caught, why did he fall for the bait? Because this wasn't his first rodeo maybe? People, take your head out of the clouds and pray for all three and for this country and the others complicit in this vile business and their families. It only destroys lives.
Why was it disappointing for you to find out that there is another side to him? Please stop all the hypocrisy…remove the plank from your own eyes to see the other side of ‘you’ that many of us see!
Which cloth? Bumbo or r@##?
It's never to late to turn the page and turn away from our bad nature. Pray for the people, pray for the nations of the world. May we all find grace in the forgiveness of God.
You would be best advised to let him carry his own burden.
