ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Verified applicants of the Joe’s Hill Manor Estate Application Process are being reminded that they must submit their bank’s pre-approval confirmation to the Social Security Board (SSB) by Friday, December 16, 2022, or risk being eliminated from the Selection Phase.

In a notice to the press on December 12, 2022, SSB said it would sincerely like to congratulate all applicants who successfully completed the ‘Verification Phase’ of the Joe’s Hill Manor Estate Selection Process.

Deadline

It added that verified applicants are reminded that they must submit their bank’s pre-approved confirmation to the Social Security Board, informing that the deadline for pre-approval submission is Friday, December 16, 2022.

“Failure to submit pre-approval will result in the applicant’s elimination from the Selection Phase,” SSB stated.

The Joe’s Hill House Development Project includes twenty-five (25) buildings, comprising fifty-two (52) residential units plus a commercial rental space.

The units are a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom condos, single-family homes, and townhouses.

Bank financing

Minister for Health and Social Development Hon Marlon A. Penn (R8), in a statement during the Eighth Sitting of the Fourth Session of the Fourth House of Assembly (HoA) at Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff’s Bottom on November 15, 2022, said the procedure to be applied in phase 3 for the allocation of homes will primarily depend on the actual number of applicants that are pre-qualified for bank financing.

“At the end of November 2022, if there are more pre-qualified applicants than available units in a particular category, based on the size and style of unit selected, then a randomised selection procedure may become necessary, in order to ensure transparency in the allocation of those units.

“Thereafter, each selected applicant will be allowed up to 90 days to finalise a mortgage and complete the property purchase transaction,” Hon Penn had stated.

Ain’t no low class people getting up in there. If you pass a good background and credit check and You meet the income requirement, you have nothing to worry about but move into a beautiful modern home.

    In the beginning this was supposed to be low income housing but of course this is what they always do to benefit their friends and family , now how in this world that we live in these houses could be considered low income houses but one thing that I know for a fact that when the investigations are done in this country all of those that are taking advantage of the poor and not so fortunate people of this country will pay the piper in the grace from heart attacks or in the jail in the UK because people are still going to die s as d can’t take nothing e we ith them I guarantee that set of criminals

    The SSB has all rights to undertake any development/investment for a return as their primary goal is to grow the SSB fund to ensure that there is sufficient capital there to take care of contributors when they reach retirement age and/or require payouts under their applicable policy. Where the ball was dropped on this project is POLITICS! This was NEVER low income homes, it was supposed to be pitched as 'AFFORDABLE' homes for middle class persons, specifically middle class couples/families that can afford a basic mortgage, nothing through the roof. These are far from low income housing and should have never been marketed as such. Now we have people up in arms because they though they were getting a nice house for free or $500 per month.

    Politics, yes politics is what dropped the ball about low income housing. SSB were within their rights. You can’t always believe everything you hear and run with it. Don’t get pissed off at the SSB, get pissed off at the ones who lied to y’all and I am quite sure you know who they are. That is a huge investment that SSB made to insure you will get your pension when you retire without any problems.

    UK personnel are brought to the BVI as the best qualified and experienced to arrest crime in the BVI. In essence, they are the panacea that the BVI is waiting for to arrest, reduce and control crime. They come and try to use administrative tools to fix crime and flop. In fact, what is really needed is behavioral change to arrest crime. And that requires a paradigm shift in societal thinking, ie, homes, communities, schools, churches , NGOs, etc. The UK’s attitude about policing, especially when it comes to Blacks, is outdated, racial and ineffective. Terrorizing the community is not policing. Is Matthews swing clearly now or it is convenient for him to enjoy living in the community.
