Another positive COVID-19 case recorded in VI
Further, it was announced by Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1) that the round-the-clock curfew will be lifted from 6:00am on Monday, April 27, 2020, but a curfew will remain in place from 1:00pm to 6:00am for 2 weeks until Sunday, May 10, 2020, but subject to constant review.
During the lifting of the curfew, residents will be allowed to shop but will need to practice social distancing and are being encouraged to wear a mask.
Selected businesses will have to be inspected and given approval for operation and will have to follow strict guidelines, including sanitisation and social distancing.
The borders and beaches will remain closed.
3 recoveries, 2 active cases
Meanwhile, the announcement of the new COVID-19 case comes days after it was announced that a 5th person, who had been in contact with a 52-year-old woman who died from COVID-19 on April 18, 2020, had tested positive for the virus.
3 persons have been cleared by CARPHA as having recovered from COVID-19.
The latest positive case means the Territory now has two active cases of the virus.
"Since my last update, 9 samples were tested by CARPHA. Eight of these samples were negative for the virus that causes COVID-19 and one additional case was detected…This brings the number of COVID-19 cases detected in the BVI to 6,” Deputy Premier and Minister for Health and Social Development, Honourable Carvin Malone (AL) stated.
The Health Minister added that 10 additional samples were sent to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) in Trinidad and Tobago for testing.
And, according to Governor Augustus J. U. Jaspert, the additional case should though not be a shock or a cause for panic, "but should be a reminder about the importance of the measures we need to take. If you had not stayed at home the risks of the virus spreading across our Territory would have been much greater. So again - thank you very much."
More details to follow.

We live in a world of China today jump on a plane and you are in the BVI tomorrow. This thing was already going around.
Sars - another 'corona virus' - had a much higher mortality rate, research it.
This is the one 'they' want to capitalize on.
Next come economic collapse to make you desperate and the mandatory vaccine to return your life to normal.
New world order.
We sing songs about saving that one lost sheep.
The better off we all are, because they will turn against us. I dont want to be out numbered by idiots who believe everything that comes from above and cant think for themselves.
Why are you on here sprouting crap.
1. Was the SARs virus spread Globally? Did it cause widespread shutdowns and countless deaths on every continent?
2. Who is "they that want to capitalize on this virus"?
3. Economic collapse is already here. Where have you been?
Next you will be telling us to drink Clorox and bathe in Lysol .
Been telling idiots that
So much appreciation to those workers. Probably we wouldn't have been told if they hadn't.

I have been thinking the same thing. Lets hope that everyone who fled from the apartment where the deceased lived have all been located by now. God knows who they came in contact with. I have a feeling sadly that there is more to come.
I am amazed at the lack of understanding in the general population concerning the presence of this virus .

Fear makes people easy to control and manipulate. Hot topic right now is that everyone who gets it will die.
9000 confirmed cases in the carribbean. Around 400 deaths. We all know Caribbean people will not volunteer to be tested. The real count is much much higher.
And that means the virus is much much less deadly than what we are being led to believe.
These things happen someone will bring it in again sooner or later.
No bio-chip-population-control-generational-mutation-causing vaccine for me. I will go postal.

All that lockdown was to identify any case/cases.
That being said I know we have to work but then if there’s asymptotic carries around then we’re in for rude awakening
My humble opinion.
