Another march planned on domestic issues; set for June 8, 2018
Mr Willock had called on religious leaders Bishop John I. Cline the Chairman of the BVI Christian Council and the Senior Pastor of the Cane Garden Bay Baptist Church Dr Rev Melvin A. Turnbull to organise another march and outlined some 12 issues.
However, Mr Burnett told our newsroom that “we cannot wait for them, the time is now, so we are marching on June 8, 2018, for country".
We will march again
He said the march will be to address many of the issues Mr Willock outlined including government lack of accountability, the 7.2M planes that never flew, Tortola Pier Park $40M overrun, poor roads and sewage and lack of financial audits among others. Mr Burnett said he has already received the permission from the police to march and “I am inviting all to come out for our country to stand with us".
Mr Willock expressed to our news reporter that he is "pleased that someone took up the cause and the time has come to look internally and address the many issues some going back 12 years ago”. He noted, however, “the last seven years the issues are on the verge of destroying the country and our way of life."
When asked, if he will be in the march on June 8, 2018, he said, “Of course I will.”
June 8, 2018 march two
The march that is expected to start from the Sunday Morning Well in Road Town to Government Administration Complex will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 8, 2018, and the organisers have not announced the speakers or other logistics.
It was on May 24, 2018, that close to five thousand residents march in protest against the United Kingdom (UK) decision to impose a registry of beneficial owners on the offshore sector for the Overseas Territories.

GLAD TO SEE YOUNG PEOPLE SPEAKING OUT
Enough of this nonsense we marching them out of office.
Make your own signs and wave them proudly. There is no time like NOW.
NDP in trouble now...wha a ting!
While you have the right to march for anything under the sun, this does not make any sense. You show a united front against imperial rulers then, claim you will stand and fight for our rights to rule our destiny.
Before the first fire is shot
We turn our guns on each other and start fighting. Go right ahead and march show the enemy how incompetent your leaders really are. Show the UK and the world how corrupt the BVI really is! Then after elections try to convince then otherwise!!!
Your a bunch of jack@*** that nobody should ever take seriously especially the British Government.
Dickson Igwe wrote an article predicting an episode like this could occur if the sitting gov’t did not listen to the common cries of the people they were serving.
Along the same line, an highly critical thinking blogger, Political Observer (PO), concurred that the possibility existed of this type of event taking place if the economy was ever negatively affected in our country. The sitting gov’t didnot listen, possibly, because they do not listen to bloggers; or possibly because, they are locally based and their assessments were obviously not coming from their highly paid overseas consultants.
Now, look at the state of our country today. The pitchforks are out and quite rightfully so. Our country is indeed, already in turmoil; our people are worried about the state of affairs and the present and future direction of our country. They need reassurance and it appears that the sitting gov’t has been unable to deliver any confidence (due to their lack of transparency and accountability) that they are the ones to turn it around.
So far, what has been witnessed from this sitting gov’t is political deceptive double speak (language designed to manipulate the people.) Obviously, the sitting gov’t have not been planning for all these possible scenarios happening in our country, although they have been timely warned. Were they too busy serving themselves and their circle of special interests? Have they been caught unprepared and scrambling now for solutions? Are these events teachable episodes for all of us to learn from, forging ahead? Are these episodes of disruption occurring for us to reset how we conduct our politics in our country? These need to be answered as a people. Out for now.
