Aneil A.B. Caines wins Rotary Club of Central Tortola’s Car Raffle

PASEA ESTATE, Tortola, VI-Mr Aneil A.B. Caines walked away the grand prize winner of the 2024 Rotary Club of Central Tortola Annual Car Raffle.

The young man won the Changan Uni-K valued at $44,995.00. The Changan Uni-K is part of the Changan brand of vehicles sold by Tortola Auto Group (TAG). The Changan brand is swiftly growing in popularity in the [British] Virgin Islands.

The raffle happened last evening, Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Delta Petroleum Service Station. there was a last-minute surge of ticket sales before the draw occurred at 10 PM.

‘I’ve been working hard’ to buy a car- Mr Caines

Mr Caines, 20, was one of the last-minute ticket buyers winning with ticket number 5354.

“I’m really happy because this Christmas I’ve been working hard to try and buy a car,” he said on the club’s Facebook live broadcast of the raffle.

Mr Caines explained that his plans to sell his bike the night of the raffle fell through, and he was feeling disappointed.

“So tonight, before I leave town...because I had passed Delta, I turned around and I say let me try and purchase a ticket to see if I would win,” he added.

President of the Rotary Club of Central Tortla Mr Annill Daniel expressed congratulations to Mr Caines on behalf of the club.

“I’m so happy you took a chance on yourself tonight and definitely you became successful. I want to wish you successful year on the road driving your brand-new vehicle and it just shows that when you place faith in yourself, you see what happens,” he added.

        Exactly, I was in NYC with a friend a month ago and I bought 10 $5.00 scratch off tickets and did not won anything. My friend bought a $1.00 scratch off and won a $1,000 dollars.

      Why are you sad? Perhaps you thought the more books of ticket you bought you were going to win? All it takes is a dollar and a dream.
