Anegadians for Progress Inc makes donation to Anegada clinic
The donation shipped to the Virgin Islands in early December 2024, was received by Minister for Health and Social Development Hon Vinent O. Wheatley (R9) for delivery on Friday, December 20, 2024.
Anegadians for Progress Inc. donated stethoscopes, otoscopes, blood pressure monitors and cuffs, pulse oximeters for adults and children, thermometers, diabetes testing kits, bed sheets, patient gowns, nebulizer masks, band aids, alcohol pads, and N95 masks to the clinic.
Hon Wheatley in a social media post said he was “thrilled” to receive the donation on behalf of the Nurse Romalia Smith Clinic.
“On behalf of the HSA and the entire Anegada Community I want to sincerely thank Sara Crique Torres and her entire team for this very generous donation, it is through partnerships like these that we will move the BVI forward,” he added.
Nurse Romalia Smith Clinic a ‘vital resource’
Describing the Nurse Romalia Smith Clinic as a “vital resource for the island” the group set a budget of $1,500.00 raising donations through Go Fund Me to purchase and ship the supplies to Anegada.
All funds raised went directly into the purchasing and shipping of the supplies.
“Any money raised beyond our goal will be saved for our next project in 2025, continuing our mission to uplift the Anegada community,” group member Veronica Jarrett said in a Facebook post.
