Amidst difficulties ‘Look around & celebrate what’s left’– Rev Dr Turnbull
The Pastor's message came as part of a December 25, 2021, Christmas message entitled 'The Gift' from the CGB Baptist Church.
“No matter your belief system, I think we can all admit that there is something special about this time of year. And yes, I hear you, Pastor, this year is different - mom is not here, my sister is missing, dad is absent and my brother, he is gone. I hear you,” he said.
Dr Turnbull continued, “We have all been through a lot this year. Our sincerest sympathies to the many families who are grieving the loss of a loved one, a friend, a job - shattered dreams - wounded hearts - faded hope.”
The true meaning of Christmas
“I've come to announce that you don’t have to look like what you’ve been through, but even if you do, it was at a time like this that someone who cares voluntarily came and went through worse than we ever could in order to save, satisfy, and sustain us,“ he further added.
The man of God said in essence, Christmas is about 'The Gift' and the miracle of the season.
He added, that the miracle of the season is not in what was lost, but rather, what is left, “I urge you even at this difficult time to look around and celebrate what’s left,” Dr Turnbull said.

Religiously many of us are, but most of us are responding flatteringly. In other words, we offer [ fake praise in exchange for genuine love. We are expected to celebrate the God of the season, not the seasons of God. No charges. It's free.
