ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- An American expatriate, David Dietrich, has been accused by the Callwood family on Jost van Dyke of trying to con Virgin Islands cultural icon Mr Philiciano O. Callwood MBE aka ‘Foxy’.

The now resigned Director of Operations at Foxy’s Beach Bar in Great Harbour, Jost van Dyke, David Dietrich has; however, said he was only about looking into the best interest of Foxy, who he said feels cheated by his own family.

Family feud

Mr Dietrich and Foxy called a press conference at Maria’s by the Sea on Monday, October 14, 2019, in a quest to clear the air over reports rife on social media that Mr Dietrich was scamming Foxy.

Foxy told the media he had given Mr Dietrich authority to handle his interest in Foxy's Group of Companies, of which he is part owner, as he found out the bar and restaurant business on Jost van Dyke was broke and was not prepared to let it continue like that.

Further, Foxy accused his wife, Theresa Callwood aka 'Tessa', and children of deserting him and that they were not deserving of anything from him.

Mr Dietrich accused the Callwood sons, mainly Greg and Dean, of threatening him and his family and said the matter was reported to the police. Both Greg and Dean were at the press conference and maintained their accusations that Mr Dietrich was a con artist.

Reckless spending

Meanwhile, Theresa Callwood accused Foxy of reckless spending of the company’s finances, including for a boat that cost over $200,000, which was done without the knowledge of the partners of the company.

She also said not because there wasn’t money in the bank meant that the company was broke.

Both families traded allegations and harsh words against each other, indicative of a deeply split family, with Foxy seemingly in isolation.

Tessa Callwood told the media she also believes Mr Dietrich was trying to take advantage of Foxy in his old age. Foxy is 81 years of age.

During the heated and sometimes ‘explicit’ press conference, which was streamed live by some media houses, Mr Dietrich resigned verbally, saying he was concerned about his safety as well as his family’s.

It was then revealed that Theresa Callwood had come with a termination letter for Mr Dietrich. Callwood also said the internationally popular Foxy’s Restaurant and Bar would be reopened.

She said it was closed due to environmental health issues, which according to her, was sabotage done by Mr Dietrich.

Sounds like the family been scamming Foxy for self benefits. So Foxy got someone involved (a person) he trust to help the business run as a business so Foxy himself have money for his family etc... I wish people view it as a white man or black man and understand that FOXY got someone to help his business out. We all know we can’t trust people yet we all know family could be the worst as that’s why most who’s commenting are held back because of they’re (family) regardless of what venture maybe.

Foxy is a typical can easily manipulated by outsiders. Loaded with potential but solo on everything.
Outsider see gold written all over him. No formal education, a great entertainer, charming personality,
talks more than he listens and when he do listen its not to his advantage.

They first stroke his ego, make feel very good by telling him what ever he wants to hear. Go straight to his heart
with the things his family is not doing or talking to him about. He is getting it from a total stranger.

Fulling him up with ideas, that he heard many time over and bang he gains the person confident and it easily becomes their idea and the rest is history.

The lessons is family that pray together stay together. Born lucky is better that trying to die rich.

If my father had e business like that guess who will be at the front. We still need to understand shy Foxy's had to hire an outsider to manage the business when he has kids that are able to do so. What was Foxy's reasoning in doing so.

No outsiders allowed in family business. This guy David would not be in it if he didn’t see dollar signs in his future. He is the one putting his own family in harms way. So only his family is important now? Well, get the hell out of the Callwood family business and you’d will be fine. A scam artist is the worst kind of snail sludge. Foy’s Children are grown and his wife have always been his partner building the business. What in the hell do they need David for? He is taking advantage of Foxy’s age and good nature. I can’t understand how it has gotten this far without firing him.

David DeTrick is a Scammer. Just check in Virgin Gorda and the Middle East where each time he was chased by the Family for trying the same thing. This man had plans for a development on Little Jost and many more on Foxy's Back. Foxy know better, He was scammed already in the Past by a Lady he rented his kitchen to and now being scammed by David DeTrick on the same thing. Somebody need to check the accounts. Foxy simply need to get a report on the business finances and both he and his wife must sign checks only.

Send David DeTrick packing and let the people who love Foxy's take care of Foxy's.

Poor Foxy is being brainwashed and is going paranoid all at once. What’s the guy’s last name? Dietrich? Diet-rich? He has Foxy on a steady diet so that he can get rich in the end. Never trust anyone with “rich” in their name...

Don't know the man but you could see evil all over his face. Just wanted to slap him off my phone during the press conference and slap Foxy into reality. Hey if my wife taking my money, it's our money. Better she who I give 39 years of my life than some body who I met 5 years ago. So she take it and put in another business that we have or another account. So what. That's my wife

I feel so bad for all of the Callwoods. Praying that this terrible mess gets sorted out quickly. How stressful for all of them. We should all pray that Fox and Tess can put this behind them and the rest of the family can unite as well. Fox, wake up! David is gone...he is not welcome in the BVI. Love your family. Admit you made a mistake and get back good with your family. They will forgive you. They love you. They have always loved you and always will. This has gone too far. Don't wait any longer. Do the right thing Callwood family. Love each other unconditionally. Make Foxy's great again. There are many of us out here that love all of you and it breaks our hearts to see this happen. Please stop it.

Money the root of all evil.......money is what people are after these days no love or care for family at least in some families.....Foxy has a good business going on but if they don't take care of it and just use it as a piggy bank then you will see it all fail. Greed can destroy everything.
