FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- Tortola resident and Belonger Danny Dennevil, 34, was ordered to remain in federal custody pending trial on charges related to a human smuggling operation, when he appeared before United States Attorney Delia L. Smith on October 1, 2024.

On September 26, 2024, Dennevil was charged with illegally bringing aliens to the United States and failure to heave to law enforcement.

According to court documents, on September 25, 2024, at approximately 7:00 PM, Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations and United States Coast Guard officers intercepted a vessel crossing the international border from the VI into United States Territory.

The unlit vessel, operated by Dennevil, travelled from Tortola, VI to Leinster Bay, St John where it offloaded two individuals on the beach.

Dennevil immediately departed Leinster Bay and headed back towards Tortola. Officers were forced to disable Dennevil’s vessel after he refused to comply with orders to stop the vessel. Thereafter, officers detained Dennevil and two Dominican Republic nationals who were found on the Leinster Bay trail.

Dennevil later admitted to the officers that he smuggled the two Dominican nationals from Tortola to St. John knowing that it was illegal for him to do so.

United States Magistrate Allan Teague detained Dennevil and the two Dominican nationals following Tuesday’s detention hearing.

According to a press release from the United States Department of Justice, this case is being investigated by the United States Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection and Homeland Security Investigations and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kyle Payne.

He met his match this time.now he sitting with the Feds. Good the Feds got him. If he had made it back to Tortola, they would have allow him bail and he would have go right back and continue his human smuggling operation.

Now that the Feds got him he ain’t going nowhere. Once you commit a Federal crime your goose is cooked. Human smuggling is a Federal crime. Who knows if the Feds did not have their eyes on him for a while and was building a case against him. You play or think you can play with the Feds you will get burned. Dude know his back is up against the wall and he might just flip on the ones in Tortola that is involved in the smuggling of humans.

Strange the USVI doesn’t seem to do anything about the very many illegal DR people in St thomas.

Oh really? Is that what you think? You don’t know that my friend. The USVI knows the Dominicans is being smuggle to Tortola and is making their way VIA St.John because it is hard to smuggle from the Dominican Republic to St.Thomas.

Let the father or mother put the BVI lawyer in St Thomas, now use your savings from your smuggling in USVI, you will sing and the accomplices will follow the same route to Atlanta to comply and return to BVI to the same thing

    Where is his photo?
  • Despite attempts to stop him, Dennevil tried to flee back towards British Virgin Islands waters, prompting CBP agents to fire on his boat's engine, eventually disabling it and arresting him.

Due to the increasing numbers of BVI islanders in US Federal Prisons there will be a new prison built in Alaska for all these foreign criminals.

We don’t have to worry about him for a while. The law in Tortola knew what this man was involved in and yet they choose to turn a blind eye. I hope he name the ones from Tortola that is involved. Makes me want to think that *******was involved in the boat incident where the Santo lady drown and the missing man who perhaps ended up being shark food.

Exactly, now you see why the US don’t trust the BVI JUDICIAL SYSTEM.

The Premier want to open the flood gates for the Santos to flood the BVI even more. Can’t stand those Santos. Haiti is next door to the Santos. Why they don’t go over and flood Haiti.

The BVI is responsible for the infestation of Santos and Haitians that is in the USVI. The US is watching the BVI like hawks.
