All VI summer programmes postponed due to rising COVID-19 cases
This call to action is due to an increase in positive COVID-19 cases within the Territory.
The Territory’s epidemiological summary as of July 2, 2021, reports that there are 155 active cases. Ten (10) of these cases are located on vessels, 141 on the island of Tortola and 4 on Virgin Gorda.
According to Government Information Services (GIS) on July 3, 2021, residents are encouraged that during this time, it is important to comply and work together to control and suppress the spread of COVID-19.
It said the Ministry of Health and Social Development continues to encourage the community to protect themselves by boosting the immune system, exercising and eating healthy, wearing masks over mouth and nose, hand washing/sanitising for at least 20 seconds and practising proper cough etiquette.
