All is set for Music Fest on the beach
Artistes will being to arrive today May 24, 2012 and the stage is already up with sound checks set to start later this evening.
Regional soca icon Fireman Hooper is already here and Cheezy and El A Kru are expected to arrive later this evening.
According to Events Coordinator of the BVI Music Festival Committee, Rhodni Skelton plans are going well for the event.
“Everything is going well, vendors are already getting themselves in place and the vibe is already doing good, people already feeling the vibe at Cane Garden Bay beach and looking forward to a good show,” a very hyped Skelton told this news agency from the musical festival site.
Regarding the issue of traffic and use of shuttles, Skelton said the Police have already done their part to inform the public about the traffic routes while shuttles are in place at Capoons Bay in the West and the Administrative Complex compound in Road Town.
Tickets will no longer be on sale from tomorrow midday and patrons will have to pay the full $25 prize per night.
Tomorrow Friday May 27, Too Smooth band and a VI All Stars Showcase of some 14 local artistes will start the ball rolling. A surprise artiste will also be featured followed by Extreme band, Fireman Hooper from St. Vincent featuring Tizzy and El A Kru wrapping an energetic evening.
On Saturday, several local reggae acts will be gracing the stage including Quitos and the Edge, while Third World will be headlining. On Sunday, it will be a rocket performance with the VI’s own Melanie Amaro, Motown Review and Estelle.
