Alfred Robinson granted bail in common assault
It is alleged that Robinson unlawfully assaulted Sarah de La Cruz. Representing himself in the matter, Robinson pleaded not guilty to the charge.
According to the facts revealed in court, the defendant and the virtual complainant shared a relationship and have a child together.
The court heard that the incident allegedly took place on August 26, 2015 in the Crabbe Lot "ghetto" in Road Town.
The VC was at Elwin Plaza Bar speaking with the bartender when the defendant approached her and grabbed her by the arm. She told him to let her go and he allegedly slapped her on the mouth with the back of his hand.
The court heard that Robinson allegedly said if the VC went to the police no one would believe her.
Signed bail was set in the amount of $2,000 and the parties are to return to court on July 15, 2016 for reporting.
