ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Aladdin Pantomime - which was about the classic tale of the poor boy whose fortune would be changed with the finding of a magic lamp, was particularly a hit among children, who turned out in decent numbers for the matinee on Sunday February 19, 2012 at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium, Paraquita Bay.

Performed by members of Limelight Productions BVI, the show was held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the same venue.

According to Producer/Director of the show Paul Cowlard, the performance received very positive feedbacks from the audience and noted that children in particular enjoyed the performances and the interaction, which made the matinee a very lively one.

Mr. Cowlard also said the cast of characters comprised of a cross section of talent from the Virgin Islands and said he was particularly satisfied with the “new faces” and their performances, which he said was impressive. “Limelight Productions BVI has also been interested in amateur dramatics and in anyone who just likes performing.”

The show director noted that many persons have indicated an interest in knowing more about the club and possiblly becoming a member and that the club would be following up with those persons shortly.

For now though the cast will take a deserved rest.

Meanwhile, Limelight Productions BVI hopes to make the Pantomime show an annual event around this time. It will also be looking to do such a performance during the Christmas season as is traditionally done in other countries such as in the United Kingdom.

Limelight Productions BVI has been producing shows in the Virgin Islands since 2008. Persons wishing to know more about the club could email limelightbvi@gmail.com or visit their Facebook page.

Pantomime is a musical-comedy theatrical production traditionally found in the United Kingdom.

Very good event as the place was full of children who all have a keen interest in acting….it was also wonderful to see the children having such a good time both those in the play and those in the audience.
