ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) continues to monitor AL94 as it continues to move westward across the Atlantic.

“This disturbance is a potential threat to the Virgin Islands, as it will show signs of possible tropical development near or over the Territory later next week,” DDM stated on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

It said AL94 could possibly bring unstable weather to the northeast Caribbean from Thursday into Friday.

Unstable weather possible later in the week

By the end of next week, this disturbance could increase the chance of showers and rainfall along with marine conditions across the Territory.

It is not yet known if the disturbance will develop before it reaches the Territory, but it is expected to become a tropical cyclone in the long run. Regardless of whether or not this disturbance becomes tropical in the vicinity of the Territory, it is expected to affect weather conditions, DDM stated.

As of 8:00 AM Monday, October 14, 2024, AL94 was a well-defined area of low pressure located several hundred miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands, producing some disorganized showers and thunderstorms.

What do you mean we cannot take this. Hurricanes have been hitting the Islands before you and I was born. Ask some of the elders that is still alive.

All DDM is doing is keeping us informed as to what is going on and people have nothing to say but whine and complain. DDM should stop informing these ungrateful people about anything. If the storm hit let them scatter back in the bushes for protection from the storm.
