Additional UK police arrives in the VI; Conflicting info on mission

While there are conflicting information on the mission of the up to six UK officers in the Territory, it is believed that they are here to assist in crime fighting measures.
There were unconfirmed reports, which our newsroom could not independently verify, that the United Kingdom Metropolitan Police, known as Scotland Yard, who has specialised divisions in investigating white collar crime, corruption, and high level financial improprieties, was reportedly in the British Overseas Territory.
No Scotland Yard; Why they so on edge?
Once the unconfirmed reports spread in the local community, speculations started to circulate as to the reasons why Scotland Yard would need to be on Tortola. However, speaking to a senior source close to British appointed Governor John S. Duncan OBE, they denied the presence of Scotland Yard in the VI, but confirmed "additional UK police officers are here to help with police strategy and transfer of knowledge".
It is believed that the false reports that Scotland Yard is here is linked to the past six years where the VI has been on the political edge with many allegations of financial mismanagement, allegations of public corruption, resulting in UK nationals taking key position in the Territory, including that of Chief Auditor, Commissioner of Police, Head of the Prison and Director of Public Prosecutions.
NDP no financial priority- Gov Duncan
Governor John S. Duncan OBE, who leaves in August of this year, has accused the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) Government- publicly and in letters obtained by the local media- of reckless spending, lack of priority with the public money and not providing audited financial reports to the House of Assembly since they took office in 2011.
Some of the many examples of careless, reckless and irresponsible spending as stated by critics of the Government with tax payers monies is Premier and Minister of Finance Dr The Honourable D. Orlando Smith (AL) giving $7.2M to bail out a bankrupt BVI Airways who is yet to fly between Miami, Florida and Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport on Beef Island.
In addition, they cite Hon Myron V. Walwyn (AL), the Minister for Education and Culture, spending over $1.2M on a small wall around the Elmore Stoutt High School just before the 2015 snap elections, when children are going to school hungry, and there are in some cases not even toilet paper and teaching tools in schools.
They also raised the some $35 Million overrun on the Ports Development Project under the watch of Hon Mark H. Vanterpool (R4), the Minister for Communications and Works.

On another note, while I do not agree with flying in foreign officers, sometimes we just don't have a choice. The BVI is a place known for (who you know) and not (what you know) so there is always injustice. Father send help while I sip my tea.
