9 auxiliary officers added to RVIPF

The graduation ceremony occurred at the Wilson T. Sylvester Recreational Facility at the Road Town Police Station on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
The Best Graduating Officer was Ashaneke Williams, who received the DCP Jacqueline E. Vanterpool Award for Best Auxiliary Officer.
Williams, a national of Jamaica, also received the Mr Westmore Jeffers Award for Best at Auxiliary Duty Subjects.
Kenroy Matthias received the award for Best at Evidence and Loren Rymer picked up the award for Leadership.
Meanwhile, Zenique Pope-Christopher copped the PC Delplesche Award for Best Drill and Sgt. Bobb & Pc Ramprashad Award for Best at Physical.
Wennicia Williams received the Sgt Blackwood Award for Most Disciplined Officer.
‘Remember the importance of integrity’- CoP Collins
Police Commissioner Mark Collins said the journey for Cohort 7, which comprised 7 females and 2 males, has been marked by intense training, rigorous learning, and profound personal growth and that the officers’ dedication, perseverance, and unwavering focus have been exemplary.
“As you step into your new roles, remember the importance of integrity, compassion, and respect. Uphold the law with fairness, treat every individual with dignity, and continuously seek to improve,” Mr Collins stated.
‘You have the power to inspire trust’- DCP Vanterpool
Deputy Commissioner of Police Jacqueline E. Vanterpool said it was with great pride and admiration that she extended heartfelt congratulations to each member of Cohort 7 on their remarkable achievement.
“Today marks a significant milestone in your journey as you officially join the esteemed ranks of Auxiliary Officers. Your dedication, perseverance, and commitment throughout your training have not gone unnoticed. You have demonstrated exceptional resilience and an unwavering spirit, embodying the core values of our police force. This accomplishment is a testament to your hard work and the support of your families, trainers, and colleagues.”
DCP Vanterpool told the officers to remember that they are now part of a long and honourable tradition of service.
“Your duties will be challenging, but the impact you will have on our community is immeasurable. You have the power to inspire trust, ensure safety, and foster a sense of security among the people you serve,” DCP Vanterpool remarked.
Acting Governor David D. Archer Jr was one of the persons who gave remarks.
The Guest Speaker was Cohort 4 graduate, Constable Roxanne Itwaru of Virgin Gorda.
