1602 active COVID-19 cases
Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronald E. George said as of July 14, 2021, there were 1602 active confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Territory.
Dr Georges said. “My heart goes out to the families who are affected by the death of a loved one. COVID is real and if we are to get through this, some of us will have to change our approach to this virus. We must continue to strictly adhere to the health and safety protocols and take advantage of the opportunity to get vaccinated.”
“Given that the BVI is experiencing high community transmission all symptomatic persons should immediately assume that they are COVID positive. Therefore, we need persons to adhere to isolation and quarantine orders,” Dr Georges stated.
Vaccination drive @ Festival Grounds
The unvaccinated members of the community are encouraged to take advantage of the vaccination drive this Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18, 2021, on the Festival Grounds in Road Town from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
“The more people we can get vaccinated the less the mortality rates. Persons who are being severely impacted from COVID-19 have preexisting medical conditions. We are making a special appeal to our vulnerable population to get vaccinated today to save your life tomorrow,” Dr Georges said.
The Public Health team is asking the community to have patience as members work assiduously.
Also, if persons have taken a COVID test and did not get their results back, they are asked to fill out the form via the link https://redcap.link/LABResults.

Ministers, I ask, how is fasting and praying helping? How many more people have to die?
These deaths are not on the ministers or our government - the deaths are on our local population who failed to get vaccinated despite having every opportunity to do so for the last four months.
All then the govt begging ayo to take the shot. .
Now it open ayo crying close it.
I would of leave it open ayo too harden n stubborn
I’m wondering how many people have recovered since the recent outbreak.
Should this be included in the breakdown given by the Ministry of Health?
Much respect to those who make it out to the Festival Grounds in the coming days.
Thank you to everyone involved. Stay V.I. strong.
The damage is already done. Government must always do something and there are persons who are not listening to the protocols in place.
People will still do what they want Lock down or not.
DO YOUR PART (Please!!) Get Vaccinated - twice!!
We are in urgent need of your deliverance the evil effects of covid-19. Please Father, give the knowledge, the wisdom, and the will to do tbe things thst is pleasing in your sight. For too long we have have strayed far from your strong arms of protection, favoring material things to satisfy the lust of the flesh.
In these times of hardships, we lack the faith to act wisely. You have given us everything the we need, but by large we havd fail to trust and your wise leadership.
You are our only source of life, and our only burden bearer. Please holy Father, relieve us of this hardship of suffering, that is devastatng our community, and causimg us almost unbearable pains. Lord God, the Devine One whose mind is perfect, whose ears stays open, whose eyes sees all the good and the evil, whose love for us connot be measure by the limitation of our finite mind, You know how frail are. Without You we cannot continue to living, and without You we cannot afford to die. It will be that because of willful negligence, and faithlessness in You more among will succumb to this deadly decease. Teach us to amend our selfish ways? and applied our hearts to wisdom, forsaking ignorance, arrogance, help the evil way.

Hon. Premier, and Hon. Malone, act now please. Before all of the critocal front liners who are not vaccinated ( and probably even the vaccinated ones)become compromised and by extension the country. This gamble will not result in victory sad to say.
More options should have been brought here. At least moderna. England has that. And those in the 30 s and 40s who took astrazeneca were given moderna as the 2nd shot.
