VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- Sports Vision Academy (SVA) continues to play a major role in not only keeping sports alive at the youth level but also providing young athletes with the right techniques.

One of the latest moulding events of SVA was its Volleyball Festival held at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex on Tortola on February 15, 2025, and at A. Jeffrey Caines Arena on Virgin Gorda on February 22, 2025.

Guest coaches

Participants of the volleyball festival on Tortola benefitted from the expertise of guest coach Sharonda A. Pickering while those on Virgin Gorda were privileged to be coached by Danielle Selkridge.

Both Pickering and Selkridge achieved much success at the collegiate level and have played for clubs internationally.
The age groups for the festival were 9-12 and 13-16 and included boys and girls.

According to Sports Vision Academy, 74 children participated.

Attention now turns to the Youth Volleyball League slated to start on March 1, 2025, at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.
