7.0 quake rocks Windward Islands
The quake’s epicenter was located at latitude 10.4 North, longitude 62.7 West, or just off the coast of Venezuela with a depth of 54 miles.
Information from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre has indicated no Tsunami Advisories, Watches or Warnings were issued for the Virgin Islands.
Tremors were felt in neighbouring Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago, in addition to reports coming out of Grenada and other Windward Islands.
A subsequent statement by the VI's Department of Disaster Management (DDM), again reminded the VI community, “…we live in a seismically active zone, which makes the Territory vulnerable to earthquakes.”
