6 arrested as illegal drugs found onboard ferry in RT
According to reports reaching our news centre, officers of Her Majesty’s Customs and Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) conducted a search on the ferry last evening when the illegal substance, believed to be marijuana, was found.
Our newsroom was told by sources close to the situation that Customs officers were given a tip off and conducted an extensive search of the vessel after it had off loaded at the Road Town Ferry Dock.
The drugs, weighing a little over 2lbs, were found in a large bag of dog food, which was hidden away on the vessel.
VINO understands that up the point of the men being released late last night, none took ownership of the drugs.
Investigations are ongoing.
More details to follow.
