FISH BAY, Tortola, VI- Mentoring Anointed Leaders Everywhere (MALE) BVI received an unexpected $5000.00 contribution from Drakes Traders Ltd.

This formed part of the hardware store’s seasonal donation and reflected Drakes Traders’ commitment to supporting initiatives that foster positive change and growth among youth in the Virgin Islands.

MALE BVI, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young men through mentorship, education, and community engagement, was presented with the gift by the store’s representatives at Drakes Traders, Fish Bay, Tortola on December 17, 2024, a press release said.

President of MALE BVI Mr Henderson Tittle said, “This generous donation will enable us to continue empowering young men to rise above challenges in their personal lives. Right now, we have a serious need to support and guide the young men in our society who are lacking positive role models in their lives. They are missing the guidance and, with it, the encouragement to recognize and seize opportunities that will lead them away from trouble and onto the right track of realizing their potential and becoming productive and responsible community members. We are deeply grateful for Drakes Traders Ltd.’s unwavering support.”

Donation makes expanding programs possible

The donation will assist MALE BVI in expanding its programs, which include mentorship workshops, counseling sessions, and other activities designed to instill values of responsibility, respect, and resilience in young men across the Territory.

MALE BVI was identified by the Drakes Traders management team as a community cause that urgently needs encouragement and support.

According to Managing Director Mr Christian Esser, “As a family and as a company, we believe in coming together to build a stronger community that is supportive of those that are in need. As the saying goes, ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ - we are part of the village and MALE BVI’s mission aligns perfectly with our values. We are pleased to support their efforts.”

I would have preferred to give my staff then to give away in charity, because at the end of the day your staff is what give customers the choice to return to the store because they are always helping and helpful.
