$42K Changan Uni-K unveiled as Rotary Club of Central Tortola's grand car raffle prize

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A Changan Uni-K valued at over $40,000.00 was unveiled as the grand prize in this year’s Rotary Club of Central Tortola’s Annual Car Raffle during the raffle’s official launch on Friday, August 2, 2024, outside the Flow building in Road Town.

The Changan Uni-K is part of the Changan brand of vehicles sold by Tortola Auto Group (TAG). The Changan brand is swiftly growing in popularity in the [British] Virgin Islands.

Valued at a retail price of $42, 995.00, one lucky person will drive away with the vehicle when the final draw is held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Delta Petroleum in Pasea Estate.

The cost of a ticket is only $10.00.

Grateful for the support- President, Rotary Club of Central Tortola Annill Daniel

The President of the Rotary Club of Central Tortola, Annill Daniel, said the support and contributions from the community have transformed the annual raffle into a successful fundraising event for the Rotary Club of Central Tortola. 

“We are incredibly grateful for our continuous partnership and contributions,” he said. 

Daniel also thanked the platinum sponsors of this year’s car raffle: Flow, Cable & Wireless Business, Nagico Insurance, Tortola Auto Group and Delta Petroleum, saying “their generosity has been instrumental in making our grand annual raffle an exceptional event each year”.

Meanwhile, Shan Mohamed, Past President of the Rotary Club of Central Tortola and Managing Director of Nagico Insurances showed off the Changan Uni-K to be raffled during an interview with JTV Channel 55 on Saturday, August 3, 2024. 

The vehicle, he said, has many features and the Rotary team was intentional when choosing the Changan Uni-K to be raffled. 

Mohamed added, “In case you don’t win it, on the flip side, the money that Rotary receives, a hundred percent goes back to the community. So I think it’s a win, win, win.”

Representatives of sponsors who gave remarks at the launch of the car raffle were B2B Sales Manager of C&W Business, Bernice Magloire-Williams; and Chief Executive Officer of Mi Amor, Eileen Bourke.

    Delta pulled off the best and most transparent Car raffle in the BVI. At the Gas station infront of everyone with the media present...Losers had no doubts. These other raffles come with so much doubts. People will say "Rotary / Lions already know who the winner is".
