3 speed bumps to be installed on Fish Bay Road
This is according to the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) on October 17, 2022.
The RDA said asphaltic works commenced on Saturday, October 15, 2022, with preparatory works which comprised of the proper cleaning of the new road pavement, tacking of road edges and asphalting the road gaps.
Works continued on Sunday, October 16, 2022, with the laying of the asphaltic concrete which is 90% completed. The final works were scheduled for execution and completion by noon on Monday, October 17, 2022.
Speed bumps coming
Three speed bumps were to be installed on Monday; however, this was not done.
According to the Head of Communications at the RDA, Colene A. Penn, the speed bumps will be installed later this week, weather permitting.
Persons on social media have been asking for the speed bumps to cater to ‘low’ vehicles.
The Asphaltic Works contract on the Fish Bay Road was executed by the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) through local contractor Tortola Paving Ltd as part of the Government of the Virgin Islands Recovery to Development Plan.
Financing is provided by the Caribbean Development Bank, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan.

And who are these persons "asking for speed bumps to cater to low vehicles?" I normally see the low vehicles angling across the speed bumps. Often times other drivers have to wait while they 'shashay' across the road.
It is MASA's comment that makes absolutely no sense. Why would he equate 3 speed bumps at Fish Bay to be as bad as putting speed bumps on hills? Stop justifying stupidness from others.
SHORT PRESENCE WITH THEM / THEY WON'T COMPLAIN AS LONG AS YOU GOT THE ???? / THE FAMILY MIGHT EVEN SHED A TEAR ???? ON YOUR DEPARTURE , BUT NEXT DAY ITS BUSINESS AS USUAL . SO NO BIG DEAL ????
And after turn around time, first number call around 10am .I don't see why you have to take a day off to license a vehicle!!
PLUS THIS NEW ROAD HAS POOR DRAINAGE- WATER ALWAYS REMAINS STAGNANT AFTER RAINFALL
IT DON'T NEED A PIECE MORE SPEED BUMP IN FISH BAY. It don't even have speed bumps on the stretch of road from the Port Purcell Round About to CSY and it don't need any...leave Fish Bay road as is please!
