3 recorded active COVID-19 cases currently in VI

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Virgin Islands (VI) currently has 3 recorded active cases of COVID-19 as of today, June 10, 2021, according to the latest update from Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Carvin Malone (AL).

According to Hon Malone, one of the cases was discovered on day 7 screening and the other two cases are close contacts of the case.

All cases are on the island of Tortola.

Hon Malone said the public health team continues to monitor all the cases and infected persons will remain in mandatory quarantine until they are deemed fully recovered.

The Minister said that to date, some 52,480 tests were conducted on individuals swabbed throughout the territory and tested at the Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

To date, the Virgin Islands has captured 295 COVID-19 cases, with 291 recoveries and one death.

    I URGE YOU MINISTER C. MALONE TO SAY 3 KNOWN ACTIVE CASES RECIRDED OF COVID-19 RATHER THAN "3 ACTIVE CASES OF COVID-19 RECORDED... BECAUSE THERE MAY VERY WELL BE MORE ACTIVE CASES OF COVID-19 CASES UNREPORTED. JUST TRYING TO HELP. THANKS YOU AND THE REST OF THE GOVERNMENT LEADERS FOR YOU PROACTIVE AND ACTIVE WORK ON THIS MATTER OF GREAT CONCERN. KEEP ON KEEPING ON.

      Vaccinated people don't have 7 day quarantine and therefore would not be getting screened on day 7. So clearly the cases are unvaccinated.

        I think you should read my comment again. They have not been quarantining vaccinated travelers so they can’t test them on day 7.
