28 firearms recovered for year - CoP Collins
Commissioner of Police Mark Collins noted that this find is the latest in a series of firearm seizures by his officers in the last six months.
“My officers have so far recovered 28 firearms for the year including prohibited firearms and close to 500 rounds of ammunition. Those tasked with identifying persons and seizing illegal weapons have been relentless in ridding our streets of these firearms that have unfortunately cost too many lives. I commend their persistence,” he said.
The RVIPF says it continues to seek the public’s help in identifying persons who are in possession of illegal weapons. Persons can contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit directly at 368-9339 where all information will be held in strict confidence.
