ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Twenty girls received their Promise Badges and certificates during the BVI Girl Guiding Promise Ceremony on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Methodist Church Hall.

A Promise Ceremony is a special event where new members of the association make a promise to be their best selves and to help others.

The new inductees include 1 Rainbow, 5 Brownies, 9 Guides and 5 Rangers.

We prepare girls for the future- Commissioner Mapp

The Commissioner of the BVI Girl Guides Association, Larissa Mapp, said the association is dedicated to providing the girls with safe paces and valuable experiences, leading with focus, respect, and discipline.

“Our guiding motto is ‘Be Prepared’, and boy, do we prepare them for the world ahead- not just for when they’re adults but as they move from Rainbows to Brownies, to Guides and then to Rangers,” she said.

Commissioner Mapp added that older girls in the association are also prepared to be future leaders.

“We are working diligently with all our girls because we believe in you, we are proud of you, we trust your decisions, and we are here to guide you along, along with your families. We are interested in your interests,” Commissioner Mapp added.
