ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The BVI Athletics Association (BVIAA) will present Lifetime Achievement Awards during its 6th Athletes Awards Gala, on Saturday December 27, 2014, to two former educators who contributed to the early development of the organization.

Whilst the main focus will undoubtedly be on whether Chantel Malone will walk away with the top Women’s Honour and who will take the Men’s Senior Award, two of the assembled crowd already know they are to pick up awards for their dedication to building the Association from its early, formative Years.

Former Althea Scatliffe School Principal Gordon Calendar and Physical Educator Claudius “Claudie” Smith are the association’s 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipients.

They will receive their awards during the gala at The Moorings on Saturday, December 27, 2014.

Who is this Mr. Calendar person? Is he really the one dedicating his after hours training these young folks? Every time I go to the track I see Mr. Daz, I see Ms. Bernard and I see Mr. Potter... when will they be publicly recognized for their time spent on these kids? Years and years of time spent?
