14-year-old charged with 2025 murder of Eric A. Albert
In a press release today, September 9, 2026, the RVIPF said that as part of the investigation, officers conducted a search operation at a residence in the Greenland area on June 27, 2025.
During the operation, an AR-15 assault rifle and a quantity of 5.56 calibre ammunition were recovered. Three individuals were arrested in connection with the firearm recovery.
The 14-year-old was subsequently charged on June 28, 2025, with firearm-related offences in connection with the recovery and was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison.
Murder charge
Following continued investigations into Albert’s murder, the teenager has now been charged with Murder, the RVIPF stated.
It added that the teenager was taken back to His Majesty’s Prison, where he will remain pending his return to the Magistrate’s Court. A date for his return will be scheduled.
The RVIPF has continued to encourage anyone with information that may assist with this or any investigation to contact the Intelligence Unit at 368-9512 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 8008477 (TIPS). All information provided will be treated with the strictest confidence, the RVIPF stated.

Our current culture cause this
Our youths are easily impressionable and we still continue to promote our new "culture" that is infested with vulgarness, fast life behaviour, anti police, smoking, drinking, being promiscuous, protecting predators who work around kid's etc
We literally had local artist on stage with big gold chains bragging about their fast life and having multiple partner's.
We have young girls and women proudly shouting "she luv gun man, " she luv badman" then those same people and them friends will come online crying stop the violence. Them know who the gun man is but crying stop the violence. I'll never take the party crowd seriously
Gunshots sounded off and murders happened during festival and nobody stopped the partying for a second. Shows how desensitized we are becoming.
Plenty youths attending those events a many of young boys throwing up gun signs with them fingers alongside the half naked minors and women.
Our culture stinks and it's the source of the problem. If you look and see who defends the current culture is dudes with big chains, women who dress half naked, single mothers, unmarried women, smokers, people who love to party, and predators. There opinions on the current culture is clearly biased cuz they are a product of it and continue to benefit from it.
All the young people wearing ski mask at the events what you think y'all promoting??
This is just the tip of the ice burg if you only know the kinda men working in public abusing those young minors who have no self respect and standards
The current culture teach low self respect , zero morals, anti police, vulgarness , promiscuous behavior, drinking, smoking and partying your problems away, broken homes, single parent homes , unmarried women, women who are attracted to "gunman" "badman"
An African proverb popularized by Hilary Clinton:It takes a village to raise a child. The VI adopted and practiced the proverb at once time. However, regrettably, unfortunately, the village and its positive benefits have been lost, replaced with something very costly, eg, a 14- year old sitting at HMP awaiting trial for murder. Nuff said. At one time, the village could correct a child. But that is no more, for if a villager tries to correct a child, the parents will be on your r@$$ like white on rice. So we reap what we sow. Progress brings the good, the ugly, the bad.

I think people forget that there are individuals who seek a better life for themselves and may migrate to pursue that. There is nothing wrong with that. The world is diverse and we are meant to embrace that and welcome other cultures especially when they contribute to our society. Generalizing and blaming “down islanders” like you’re not an islander also from the Caribbean! The comments are promoting more violence requesting from law enforcement to torture the still underaged child which then perpetuates the cycle of violence. He was misguided, conditioned and the adults around him should be held accountable as well for neglecting to be protective. The person especially who made the rifle accessible for that young boy. This is a social issue within the society as a whole. It’s a crime issue not an immigration issue. Discriminating against one’s nationality because you perceive where they are from as more dangerous makes you dangerous well. It’s xenophobic. I’m curious why be hateful towards immigrants if you happily visit their countries too? Don’t go anywhere then. Stay home on our tiny island with it’s limiting resources. Keep limiting yourself and others see far you’ll go. Being judgmental and closed minded that keeps our territory slow to growth and expansion. The energy is toxic and it’s not because of immigrants, your attitudes multiplies the violence. It starts with each of us. At this point there needs to be a major violence prevention campaign or something. Sadly it feels like the world is coming to an end because we hate each other. I pray we find peace.
