Authorities in the Virgin Islands (VI) have extended the 11:00 pm to 5:00 am national curfew for two more weeks according to a new curfew order that will take effect from today, Saturday, September 4, 2021. Photo: VINO/File
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Authorities in the Virgin Islands (VI) have extended the 11:00 pm to 5:00 am national curfew for two more weeks according to a new curfew order that will take effect from today, Saturday, September 4, 2021.

The order was signed and gazette yesterday, September 3, 2021, by acting Governor David D. Archer Jr while Governor John J. Rankin CMG is away from the territory and will run until September 18, 2021.

The curfew extension comes as the territory currently has some 66 active confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus with a small number of those cases considered local.

According to the signed order, the curfew will help to control, suppress and prevent the spread of COVID-19 as well as allow for the protection of all persons within the Territory.

    Curfew should be in affect until next Year. Only the people with STREETITIS MENTALITY THAT IS ALYAYS IN THE STREETS IS THE THIRSTY ONES.

    This curfew need to start 9 or 10pm
    I know why i saying this. Whoever want to say something about restaurants, listen no one supposed to eat dinner after 7pm according to them health people, restaurants can close 9pm.

    Disgusting with your curfew... not making any sense. If cases are on the rise it's actually means they're contracted between the period of 5am and 11pm.... how many cases contracted between the curfew 11pm and 5am none so what is the curfew really all about, explain it.
